Hi, I’m Aleksandra.
To sum it up: writer, editor, restless artist. Welcome to the Art + Copy blog! A little corner of the web about all things art, copywriting, and some other creative pursuits. If you enjoy my writing, feel free to reach out to me.
A little bit more about me…
Writing is a lot like working with a chunk of clay (if you’ve ever taken up pottery). It’s there, sitting on the table, ready to be mended into any shape you want. The magic is that you can do absolutely anything you want with it. It’s the same way with words. I love that they can be anything I want on paper (or on a screen).
I come from a long history of working in marketing. When it comes to working in marketing, it’s a lot like clay that you’ve left out in the sun for way too long – a small boulder you have to rework or throw out. That was my journey! Working in marketing taught me one thing and one thing only – you either bend in weird shapes and ‘rework’ yourself to fit the industry, or you toss that dream into the trash.
Either way is a pity when you’re an artist.
And that I have been for much longer than a content marketing specialist, or even an aspiring writer. Being an artist is all-devouring. It’s part of your DNA, part of who you are – permanently. You’re born with it and you die with it – it’s both a blessing and a curse. You become some kind of clay formation yourself.
My cross disciplinary nature can be best described by the one-liner of my bio. Simply a writer, editor, and a restless artist. I’ve been working in marketing for way too long and now it’s time to spill the secrets to great content creation.
One of my favourite quotes for the road:
“To write is human, to edit is divine.”
