About the Art + Copy blog

One blog with a big promise — a roadmap for creative individuals with an eye for the arts.

I wanted a blog for the longest time – a space to call my own.

For five years, my domain stayed in the dark corners of the web with a flashy ‘coming soon’ sign if you tried to access it. The only reminder of my investment was my bank app, that pinged me at the end of every year that I had to pay for it.

It took me five years to launch it, but I did it.

I think all creative people struggle with this – our endless side hobbies, fascinations, books, projects. It’s all overwhelming and sometimes feels like an eternal struggle.

This about me page is a bit unusual in that I wanted to share a bit about how this blog started. It didn’t for half a decade. For half a decade, I mulled over in my head what it was to be. The expectations were too high even for myself.

I love all things art (banal, but true), photography, writing, sculpture, painting  – that is all very much part of me and my everyday life. How do I embody that and what did I want to share with the world?

With each year, I had more and more questions to answer. The blog stayed idle.

Then came the purpose, when I realized my mission was to help individuals. I wanted to mentor young professionals, copywriters. So I thought – this blog must be for them. But it didn’t grow on me as an idea because it would exclude my other passion projects.

Art + Copy implies that it is a blog about copywriting. But then there was also the art component (which was 100% me). The name sat right with me, and that I knew for sure. In a way, there was the purpose and the mission. But what did I want to tell the world? Where did I want to take my writing?

In my journey of helping a fellow artist establish himself in the field, I found something I was really passionate about. The power of words must be applied to something in order for it to have the desired effect. My last question to myself was – where do I want to apply my skills?

I decided to help artists. My vision for the Art + Copy blog is to be a gathering place of tips and advice for emerging and established artists that need to navigate the world of copywriting. I’m here to support with my skills to the best of my ability. As for all the rest, please enjoy my random thoughts on my journey with creative pursuits.

Regardless if you’re a copywriter, writer, or another type of artist seeking advice, tips, or help with your copy – feel free to reach out to me! This blog was created for you, as much as it is for me.

There is a small section of the blog on “The writing life” which is very much about my own artistic pursuits and my journey with writing. If you’ve gotten this far, you’ll know where to look to find that 100% that is uniquely me.

I hope you find a spark of inspiration for yourself in all that I’ve managed to create in this short, yet somehow extended time frame.
